Summer Sevens is short, sharp, social football. It is played outdoors on half the size of a normal pitch and it is the perfect chance for you to grab your mates, register and play competitive football in a social and relaxed environment.

Summer Sevens is a 7 round competition, running for 7 weeks from the 9th of october

At most venues game times will be:

  • 6:00pm
  • 6:50pm
  • 7:40pm
  • 8:30pm
  • 9:20pm

At popular venues, to allow more teams to compete, game times will be:

  • 5:45pm
  • 6:30pm
  • 7:15pm
  • 8:00pm
  • 8:45pm
  • 9:30pm

The youngest age group at the venue will always kick off first. No open age teams will kick off before 6:30pm.

Registrations for the 2017 Summer Sevens Competition will open early August.

A Summer Sevens team fee is $450 and must be paid upon registration.

There will be no additional costs during the course of the season.

Games will be played on a half a full sized pitch and use smaller, portable goals (5m x 2m). The games are 2 x 20 minute halves and utilizes interchange rather than substitutions.  Each team must have a minimum of five and no more than ten players for any given game.

Yes. You select the venue and the night that you want to play and you will only play at that venue on that night (If you select to play at the State Football Centre in the Wednesday League you will only play at the State Football Centre on a Wednesday)

No. You do not need to wear a matching uniform. Team members must wear shirts of the same (or similar) colour. Shorts and socks do not need to match. Shin pads must be worn.

We offer the following competitions at our venues:

– Boys Under 10, Under 12, Under 14 & Under 16

– Girls Under 10, Under 12, Under 14 & Under 16

– Open Age Men, Women & Mixed (a minimum of 3 women must be on the pitch for mixed)

– Masters (35+)

Please note that not all competitions will be offered at every single venue.

For junior competitions, your team will be based on the age of your oldest participant.

Open Age competitions are only available to those aged 16 & older.

The reason for double age groups is due to the limited venue space on competition  nights. We want to ensure each league has sufficient registrations and is competitive. If you want to enquire about what grade to enter your team in please contact the Summer Sevens team.

No. Summer Sevens is available to all people wanting to play football. Winter veterans, summer regulars and newcomers are all able to enjoy Summer Sevens football.

Yes. Just grab your family, friends or work colleagues and register a team today. You do not have to have played together before.

Yes. You can play for multiple Summer Sevens teams. However, if they are playing each other or playing at the same time you can only play for one team during that time.

Each team must have a designated team manager (over the age of 18). The main role of the team manager will be to act as FFV’s main point of contact. Team managers will be required to provide a working e-mail address and contact telephone number and will be expected to regularly monitor their e-mail account and the FFV Summer Sevens website for updates.

On match day team managers will be required to ensure that their team is ready to play at the designated kick-off time. If they are the designated home team they will also be responsible for ensuring that all match balls are returned to the referee at the conclusion of the game.

Team managers will also be required to sign a match record with the referee on the pitch (provided by FFV on the match day) at the immediate conclusion of each match. However, an FFV staff member will be responsible for relaying the match record to FFV.

Team managers will receive the full Terms and Conditions as part of the team registration process.

In the event that there is not enough teams to create a competition at your specific venue, the Summer Sevens Team will do the following:

  • In the first instance, we will find the closest Summer Sevens Venue with your relevant league operating and offer your team a place in that competition
  • In the event that there is no other available leagues or you do not wish to change venues, the Summer Sevens Team will issue a full refund of your registration fee*

*This does not include the Try Booking fee of 30c

We do not hold places for teams. If you want to secure your place, register today! All registrations into leagues will be on a first come, first served basis.

Your details will be advertised on the Summer Sevens website and Team App so teams can contact you.
